Greetings from Yukihiro Fukui (Founder & CEO)

I started my career in the travel industry in 1980 after graduating from university. At that time, outbound tourism in Japan was thriving, and the government launched the “Ten Million Overseas Travelers” plan in 1987, which was successfully achieved in 1990. Since then, the number of outbound travelers continued to rise. In 2003, the government introduced the “Visit Japan” campaign to attract inbound tourism, and after the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Japan now welcomes 37 million inbound visitors and sends out 13 million outbound travelers in 2024.

Realizing that Japan possesses abundant domestic tourism resources, I felt a strong desire to contribute to the promotion and revitalization of tourism in my hometown, Wakayama Prefecture. This led to the establishment of Kumano Tour Creation with my colleagues.

Our company’s predecessor was involved in creating tour packages for JALPAK, which was handled by Japan Airlines. In 2004, when the “Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range” was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site, I personally became a “Wakayama Prefecture World Heritage Master” and began promoting the tourism areas of Wakayama, including Mount Koya.

I am truly proud to guide international tourists to experience the magnificence of this World Heritage site. We look forward to welcoming you and hope you will visit us soon.
